1D $3149.00?

I have been considering the purchase of a 1D for awhile now, and I find the price varies alot!
I just saw it on Broadway Photo's site for $3149.00, the ad claims it's new and in stock. I'd guess
at that price it's not US product, but I think I'd take my chances..

I'd be very surprised if you are able to purchase a 1D from Broadway Photo at the price advertised. I base my opinion on what I've read about their method of doing business. High pressure add on accessories and if you resist, the item mysteriously ends up back-ordered until you get tired of waiting and eventually cancel the order.
Just my opinion.

Read my post in this forum from 08-06-2002. The replies to this same post should be enough warning for any sane individual. Do yourself a favor and do business with ONLY reputable individuals or companies. Just trying to save you some agony and torture and stay away from these pirates! mm

Does anyone have a recomendation for a dealer in LA, San Diego, or San Francisco? I live in Mexico and travel to these cities frequently. I think I'd rather pay a little more and buy from a store where I can see the merchandise.

The 1D's from Broadway are grey market and they won't sell it to you unless you get these outrageously priced accessories and international warranty.
