help with g3 focus problem

Can anyone tell me if the adapter for the wide angle lens will cause focusing troubles if it is left on the camera with out the wide angle lens attached? I thought maybe it would interfere with the focus assist beam. please help! :?

If it blocks the 'focus assist beam' then it might have some influence.

However, bear in mind that the 'focus assist beam' is no more than a white light supposed to give a vertical edge on the subjects when everything is dark.

I think it's a tad overrated, and it certainly won't help much if you have light around.
