Visitor permissions to view protected galleries

I would like to set up a few public galleries (visible to all) and then some other ones protected by password. How can I go about password protection of a gallery?

Exhibition Editor: exhibition password. See bottom of that editor for URL to the pass protected gallery.

In misc settings editor you can set on a password input field on front page.

Pekka, you mention in the install info that certain directories should have full access (777). How about the other files and fodlers in the EE main folder?

In more general terms, how can we secure the EE fodler from prying eyes? Thanks.
