canon shooter

Got a tablet for XMAS and trying it out. Reviewing CD and tutuorials. I don't see anything about using for photo editing. I thought this was a main stay for a tablet.
Is there any difference between the Bamboo and Bamboo fun other than sub intro software?
How long does it take to get use to tablet and pen vs. mouse.

Your question is like asking why the mouse didn't come with photo software. Its just an input device I'm pretty sure they don't package it with anything like you are wanting. But alot of programs are enhanced by a tablet. Photoshop for example responds to the pressure sensitivities of the tablet allowing you to work more naturally.

im actually not sure if the bamboo can be used for photo editing. I know the fun can but the regular i think can just be used for signing names and things like that. I could be wrong though.

I do not have the bamboo but I do have the Intuos 3 and love it, at first it's different but it goes beyond just signing your name, makes my work flow faster because it is more natural for me, and I am MUCH more accurate with selections, coloring, etc. It is also great for touching up skin. You can do all this stuff with a mouse, but once you use a tablet and get used to it, I rarely grab my mouse.

It will just work with whatever program. Photoshop and many other photo programs automatically know the touch sensitivity and such.
Using the tablet software you can specify things like what the buttons do, what portion of the screen it controls, etc. They really just control the mouse so it will work with any software.
The only differences between the bamboo and bamboo fun are:
-Fun has eraser end
-Fun has a mouse included
-Fun Comes in different colors and 2 sizes instead of just one size and black
-Fun comes with Photoshop Elements and a few other extra programs, not needed though as you can use a tablet with whatever program.
Besides those very small differences, both have the same buttons, same presure sensitivity levels, same resolution, etc. and will work just fine in photoshop or other editing programs.

I got a bamboo fun for xmas (the small one).
Surprisingly it is the perfect size for me (I have two 22" widescreens on my main computer, but only PS on 1 screen). The dimensions sound small on paper, but they are really quote sufficient for PP work.
I'm still getting used to mine, but I like it already (worlds better than the mouse in most cases). I don't use the mouse that came with mine (I prefer my G5v2).
For PP, I would say it is great once you get used to it, you really don't need THAT many levels of sensitivity for PP, 512 is more than enough for me (maybe if you're an artist or painter, but not for PP duties).
My brother has the 6x8 Intuos3, but it seems too big for my uses (even he says it is a tad too large, he has to keep moving his hand around the tablet).
