I admit I am not great with computers but I like the sharpen feature of DPP and it is better then LR on people it seems.
So I sharpened in DPP and did file save in a converted file .
Opened it back up in LR by individually importing from disk .
Now I have two raw files in LR with two different settings .
Now I can still PP the DPP sharpened raw file in LR ?
I guess it is not bad to have two raw files is it ?
They are not side by side in LR either.

Like I said I am not real computer literate so I would appreciate some comments .
Thanks
Don

If you did "Save as", all you did was make an exact copy of the original RAW with a new set of "recipe" instructions in the metadata, which only DPP can read. You did not sharpen the RAW because DPP or any other converter will never change the RAW data. Sharpening can only be done as part of a conversion to an RGB image file (tif, jpg, or bitmap for display). Open the two RAWs in LR and they will be identical. If, OTOH. you did "Convert and Save" then you created a tif or a jpg. That file can be further edited in LR or any other editor, but this is not news.

Yea thats what I thought too but I saved the raw file in a converted file and when I compare the two the settings seemed to have been changed .I mean if you look at the number settings in LR ,but I guess it is not possible ,confusing .
Thanks
