Can anybody help me with this? 5.0-mp/3x zoom (A95) vs. 3.0-mp/10x zoom (S1). I'm trying to figure out the effective zoom of the A95 if I'm going to crop in Photoshop Elements. In other words, if I go full zoom on the A95 and crop the picture to the point where the resolution is equivalent to 3.0-mp, does that equate to like 5x zoom or something?

I think it would be about 3.8x or the 1st digital zoom stop. Add a 2x aux. lens to the A95 and you have about 7.6x at 3mg resolution.

Couldn't say with any certainty but I'd go with the A95. It's got to have a sharper lens on it than the S1. I think there are deffinite tradeoffs with image sharpness with the 10X lens. Also not happy with the small LCD and elec. viewfinder. :x

This one is a little grainy, only because of my PS skills.
