U.S.S. Midway was the longest serving aircraft carrier for the US Navy. Recently decommissioned and at San Diego, it is open to the public and has aircrafts on it's flight deck.
1. F4 Phantom on deck, ready for take off with San Diego in the background.

The last one is a F8 Crusader. One of the best "Gunfighters" ever built.
Nice series but (IMO) #1 could use just a little tweak on the crop to get the point where the white stripe hits the sides the same on both sides. The dissimilar contact points are a little distracting. Love the city as a BG though...cool angle.

I would have loved to have had the background in the second shot in focus.
Some great creativity on display here.

^^^
I may be wrong, but I think the OP was intentionally using selective focus to emphasize the compass.

And that would still have happened with non-selective focus because it takes up most of the foreground.
Just my five cents.

I opened up my wigma to just focus on the compass to isolate it, but in retrospect, I think I should have also taken a second shot stopped down to get the rest of the ship in focus. It may have been a better shot that way.
Thanks for looking all.

Hey thanks all. I tried to find detail shots that may have not been seen before or try to find new perspectives not traditionally seen. It's tough but fun.
