Got a 10D back in February, then a 17-40 L, a 70-200 L, a 50mm 1.8, 550EX, a couple of 512 Meg CF cards, Remote flash unit, Big-Ed and some other stuff but one thing was missing, a remote darkroom. Yesterday I purchased a Toshiba A75 and the pics look great on it. Now my system is complete, but wait I could use a fixed range lens!

Haven't you learned the secret of SLRs? - Your best shot is always hiding inside the next lens on your wish list.

Whe the title said his sytem was "complete".. I naturally assumed this meant that he had just received the funding from Chase Manhattan Bank to buy out the B&H Family in total....
I could imagine at that point feeling my system was complete.

Heya Mark,
We'll have a cold beer waiting for you over here in "i have no money but look at my camera gear" hell. It'll never end unless you get rid of everything you have and walk away cold turkey. Even one press of any shutter will begin the spiral again...

Well, let's see here... I've got 10D, BG-ED3, two BP-511, 16mm zenitar, Canon 50mm 1.8 II, Tamron 28-75, Canon 100-400L, 1GB Hitachi microdrive, 512 MB Sandisk CF. And I don't feel even near complete. My short list of to-get stuff:
-550 EX flash
-MP-E 65
-Macro TwinLite flash
-17-40 L
-85mm 1.2 L
-70-200 2.8 L IS
-500mm f/4 L IS
-X-drive or similar
This is a so called 'reasonably insane' list which is not to be confused with 'completely insane' list as my friends would call it. The other list would have additional items such as:
-400mm 2.8 L IS
-50mm 1.0
-600mm 4.0 would substitute the 500mm 4.0
-16-35 would substitute the 17-40
-TS-E 45
-TS-E 90
-some other expensive and beautiful stuff that I don't even know yet, but I'd recognize immediately that I need it, once I saw it
BTW. press of any shutter This sends a shiver down my spine.

The system is never complete, unless you're just a point and shoot user. *hisses*[/list]

Oh, that's too bad, you have a 10D and 550EX and now Canon has the 20D and 580EX, so you'll have to sell it all and start over again!

Hi Forrest64,
Congratulations on completing your system. You obviously have far more will power than any of the rest of us Canon junkies on this forum. The only time I use the "complete" phrase is when my wife is eyeing up my latest purchase... "Yes dear, this will be the last one, no of course I dont need anything else..." Still got my eye on that 135mm f2....
Well, let's see here... I've got
SNIP
This is a so called 'reasonably insane' list which is not to be confused with 'completely insane list...
-50mm 1.0
-some other expensive and beautiful stuff that I don't even know yet, but I'd recognize immediately that I need it, once I saw it
By the way Karusel, unless you are looking for very small depths of field from the 50mm f1.0 you might like to think about the f1.4. It's lighter, cheaper and easily available, and the AF will probably be faster. I was seriously tempted by it, but unless you have to have the extra stop and the shallower DOF then I would go for the 1.4 (which I did). Also the mtf for the f1.0 arent that wonderful compared to the f1.4
50mm f1.4 mtf (http://www.photodo.com/pix/lens/mtf/CAEF5014.gif)
50mm f1.0 mtf (http://www.photodo.com/pix/lens/mtf/CAEF501L.gif)
basically put the f1.4 is sharper in the center (draw a circle around the center of the "negative" that has a diameter of 18mm) when wide open than the f1.0.
Working out the above was enough to save me spending a shed load of money and spending a lot of time digging through the second hand shops.
Best regards
BearSummer

I only have 3 (not counting the 2 that hold my Canon FD gear), but I have also found myself pondering another bag.
