Hi
Something I've been wanting to try for a while but needed a bubble blowing volunteer available to lend a hand.
I didn't manage to get the exact results I was after and it turned out a bit more tricky than I expected to actually photograph the bubbles-they move pretty fast when you are trying to focus manually in very dim lighting and only have a small black background to play with. Here's a few of my efforts.

Straight bubble shots.

A little bit of radial blur added.

Playing with colour.

Not exactly what I was trying to achieve but still enjoyed the experimenting
and the final results.

I think they are all cool, but the last one does that little extra for me! I think it's the colors :)

Whats the EXIF on these? What kind of lighting were you working with?

I've got bubbles at home and would LOVE to try this!

Hi

Thanks for all the fantastic comments.I'm a bit surprised how many people like these. My intention was to capture the colours and patterns of the bubbles.I was a bit dismayed to see all the reflections from inside the room but now I quite like them. Thanks again for looking and there are plenty more from the shoot up on my site.

The shots were taken in a very dim room with a black Lastolite reflector used for the background. All the pictures were lit with one studio light(except numbers 3,4 and5).There has been no rotation on any of the pics and the light was always placed on the right hand side. You can clearly see the direction of the light from pictures.
Numbers 3,4 and 5 were lit with a 580 EX2 fromy directly below the bubbles and fired remotly with a radio trigger.

Cheers

Stunning and beautiful images. I like the first two the best, not sure about the room reflections.
