Hi!
I have a 550EX and I'm going to buy a Sigma DG 500 SUPER.
And i want to know if the 550EX gives the "information" that the Sigma have to flash with IR or the flash.
Thanks

The aneccotes I have read, and some personal experience, indicate that the Sigma Super works pretty well as an E-TTL slave with a Canon master such as the 550EX. Whether it works as well as a suitable EX Speedlite I don't know.
But with the Sigma Super you have another option that is often superior. Just use your 550EX in manual mode and the Sigma Super in optical slave mode. Once you get the hang of manual flash, it's more consistent and reliable than using the Canon wireless system.

That's not what i wanted to know :P.
I know it works (my buddy have one) but does the 550EX trigger the Sigma with IR or the flash?

The 550EX can trigger the Sigma with it's flash, but this will only work in Manual mode on the Sigma -- you'll lose ETTL capabilities.
See FlashZebra's site for more information on what mode the Sigma should be in as well:

Hope this helps

Thanks! I always shoot with Manual mode.
