Well I placed a phone order for a 20D body with B&H around 3:30. I was told it was in stock and I had it overnighted. They transferred me to the order verification department, and low and behold their computers were down and they were unable to verify if my order can ship, although I did receive an email that my order was received, but no verification that it was shipped. Either I have the worst luck in the world, or B&H pulled a fast one over me and others who ordered the 20D today? I am determined to get my hands on a 20D, I ordered a 20D with the kit lens from another vendor earlier in the day that said they had them in stock and had that overnighted as well. So either I will have 2 20Ds in my hand tomorrow, or no 20Ds in my hand tomorrow. If I have 2 20Ds I will need to sell one of them. Yes I am an obsessed have to have it right away maniac!

Well I dont think they pulled a fast one on you, cause for the last couple hours their website was going up and down. I called to ask about them having it in stock (not to order, just ordered a 300D), and the guy said they have em and that their computers and phonelines can barely keep up.

I just got my order in with B&H too, but too late for todays shipment. I'm 1 UPS day away, so they said it will be here Thursday!!!! Says two boxes though, so I hope I don't end up with a camera and no lens :?. Hopefully the other box is just the UV filter or lens hood I let them sell me just because I was so happy to get the camera today.

I also noticed B&H has what seems to be the best price on the Sandisk Ultra II 1Gb and 2Gb cards, at $99.95 and $184.95 with no rebates to worry about.

I got my confirmation faster this way. My Account still says "Processing."

B&H is *always* slow to update the My Account page.

And note that they will give you a UPS tracking number long before UPS gets it into their system. So don't freak out if UPS doesn't have a record of your tracking number. They will have it the next morning.

I've ordered things in the past from B&H where I didn't get an email with my tracking number until the day of the delivery of the item. I usually order 3 day from them, and since I'm in NJ, I usually get my order in 2 days. I ordered the 20D body today with overnight shipping, and I have yet to receive a tracking number, and my order number isn't in their system yet. I ordered around 3:55PM today, right around the time they had computers problems. I guess I'll find out tomorrow for sure. Good Luck!

If there is one thing i've learned about UPS, it's that i hate them.

For me at least, the tracking number never works until litterally the day before shipment. Lots of good that does :roll:

As of 7:30 AM EDT, if you want one from B&H you will have to buy the 18-55 kit lens as well - the body-only option is 'accepting orders'.

And don't forget that they are closed until Sunday, so they won't be able to ship it until then (probably Monday).

So, do you lock one in now via the Web, and be sure to get one, or take your chances that they will get more bodies by Monday? :?

I got my order in with B&H under the wire last night at 6:55PM and they told me the camera would ship today, but I didn't get through to their order verifcation department in time. Now their website says any orders placed after 1AM today will not ship until next week.

The best part is I brough tthe 10D and 70-300 DO to work today.. I'll swap Cards, batts and lens and give the thing a little walk with the dogs after work.

As for thos who asked. my 1D is long since sold.. ( like May or June?) ..and I will of course be joining the hordes of people selling 10D's...

Hopefully I can sell locally so I won't be competing with all the online sellers..

They did the same thing to my dad with his new Dell computer on the 1st attempt. For the second attempt he took the day off from work, got a nice chair, and sat in the doorway of the front door. When 5PM came around he called them and they told him there was no one home to sign when they came by at 2pm. UPS is just a bunch of lazy a**.... My 2nd day air 20D which was supposed to be here today is still in a sorting facility 30 miles away. Now I have to go call them and find out why my 2nd day air package shipped Tuesday is not here yet! Bring the 20D to me NOW! :evil:

I am not angly anymore.. I just cannot belive what is going on.. but I better sue them if I cannot get my 20D before this weekend.. have a rally event to shoot.

Gotta hate UPS sometimes. I hate to say that because I have friends that work for them, but sometimes those UPS people are dumber than a box of sticks. My 20D status right now is "Out for Delivery". Luckly my dad is at the house today so he can wait for the "package". I hope you get your 20D soon Yan.

Yea my UPS guy really sucks too. I hate that B&H now ships UPS I really like Fedex.

UPS can always get in touch with their drivers. Their electronic clip board has a communication function. The next time you are waiting at home and that happens, call the 800 (1800pickups) number and demand nicely that they contact the driver and to have it delivered. It also helps to tip your driver now and then :) .

Still no camera!! I just do not understand. I called B&H on 9/15/04 with my order # and then I was told it shipped on 9/14/04 but the there system was down so they could not give me the tracking ## and still no camera. This is the worst customer service I have yet received from B&H thus far. And the automated system only will give me the tracking info on the shipment I have all ready received which was the Mack warranty card and the receipt for the 20D, Grip, and warranty but I cant take pix with the receipt or the warranty card. :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:
