This is a photo of the old Ohio State Reformatory... It housed thousands of prisoners and was operational for over 90 years, here in Mansfield, Ohio. A co-worker of mine is a ghost hunter, as well as a teacher and swears that she heard and felt several ghosts/spirits at this site. I just go for the architecture and grittiness of it:). I still have not had the chance to get back inside (it has been a couple of years and I had no camera with me at the time), but will post as soon as I do. Thanks and... B Blest.

With this one, I wanted the eeriness to come through, so I messed with it a little...

My favorite- I put the b&w in before, but wanted the rawness of the winter/berries/barrenness to come through...

I like the last one best as it communicates the atmosphere well, the first shot shows the promise of the place and the comp could be improved by cropping the right hand side a bit. This looks like the sort of place I would love to get access too and have looked at a couple of places here in Trieste, but they are all locked down tighter than a drum.

I also like number 3, very awesome place to shoot.
I really want to go to that historical penitentiary in philly.
And maybe the Steelton steel mill would be pretty cool. If they let me in
(these are places in PA.. )

Hope you don't mind but I made an edit or two on one of the pics to see if I could get more of an impact from it.

I adjusted the levels slightly. Lowered brightness, more contrast. Just messed about with it in lightroom really.

Nice shots, it is an eerie place! Fun fact for those who didn't know: Shawshank Redemption was filmed there! Or at least, portions of it.
I was lucky enough to have dinner there as part of last year's North American Sportscar Association Nationals event. Nationals are held at Mid-Ohio Raceway Sports Car Course every year, and the old prison is close by so the town of Mansfield had our welcome dinner there. The neat part was, you needed to take an elevator to the basement level to get to the bathroom. You walk past a series of jail cells on your way to the bathroom, and when I went there happened to be nobody down there, just me. It was really, really creepy.

I have driven through Mansfield a hundred times on my way to Massillon/Canton and have never visited this place. I might have to make another trip north. This is the place that was used in Shawshank Redemption. Neat looking place.

Yeah, it is very creepy! I got to hang out there one day, with only two other people in the whole place and explore- but it was before I got my camera, so sadly I did not get any cool inside shots. I am trying to finagle my way back in (and not with a group tour) again... will definitely post what I get when/if they get me in;)...
Also, videos have been made here. Godsmack and Lil' Wayne made their music videos here, as well as several others.
