just a quick question,
i have 2 flashguns,sigma 500dg and 430ex on its way,
what i was thinking of ,was getting 2 stands and 2 umbrellas, with pair flashgun mounts
or would i be better getting one of those twin studio 150w or 180w total studio kits umbrella/softbox that you see one ebay,
for mainly portrait or small products,
room wise sort half my living room, aprox 10x6 ceiling height 8ft aprox

Use the Sigma and the 430EX.
Hotshoe adapter & PC cord to the 430EX,
Sigma in optical slave mode.

Those things work well attached to most flash units, but not EX series Speedlites. And you don't need it on the Sigma Super since it has a built-in slave.
Keep it for when you decide to buy a Sunpak or Vivitar flash. It will work well on those.

you can still use the flashes with a box...thats how i do it.. although i have also used the white shoot throough brollies too.. with good results! I made my box from white foam core panels with a hole for the flashes cut from the sides and white vellum (almost like tracing paper) over the holes for diffusion.. works great!
