Sticky contact on body

I shot a wedding last week-end and lost ETTL & auto zoom on my 550EX.

After checking, I noticed that one of the spring loaded contacts on the body was not contacting the lens because it did not extend fully when I changed lenses.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Is there a lubricant for these contacts that you have used successfully?

I would be very reluctant to put any lubricant on the floating gold pins. As a general rule, you flick them once or twice with a probe. Either they work or else they don't. If they don't, then Canon will replace the lens mount for a fee.

I would never try to clean them with anything more aggressive than a clean dry piece of cloth.
