I’m relatively new with my 10D that I purchased about 6 months ago and so far so good. But I’m looking to buy a good telephoto lens and I’m currently looking at these two lenses:
Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L USM Lens
or
Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM Lens
Other than having IS and about $1000 difference between them I'm not sure on the choice. I was looking for some help on the decision if anyone has any experience with both or either lens or if anyone has any better suggestion than the two lenses mentioned I would appreciate it.
FYI I primarly shoot landscapes and wildlife
Thanks.

And you want a good fast cheap lens for all of that. :?
Get 17-40 L for landscapes, 70-200 f/4 L for wildlife and the 50/1.8 8)

Mosts lenses that do a 10x zoom are not going to be too sharp. It just takes too many elements to leave a sharp, contrasty image.
Neither of your lens choice are long enough nor wide enough, IMHO. Get the 100-400 and the Canon 17-40 L and you're into it for about $2150, a little high of being in the middle between the prices of those two lenses. Tack on the Canon 85mm f/1.8 ($340) and you'll have a very very nice range of lenses capable of almost anything. Any of them should be as sharp or sharper than your choices.
On this forum, it's pretty much a given that the wildlife lens of choice (without limited funds) is the 100-400 L IS, about $1450.
Edit: Doc's list is good if you wish to stay cheap, but I think the 70-200 is still a bit short.

Don't we have that etched in stone somewhere?

We should! It would certainly save so many of us from typing it over and over again. It's certainly one of the CDP mantras.

In Nepal, you can walk along the sacred paths that have been walked by Buddhist pilgrims for centuries. Along those paths, stone tablets are visible with the most sacred of religious mantras. Then, down at the very bottom of the prayer rock, in small lettters it says:
Canon 100-400mmL IS

Thanks for the input from everyone…
I was trying to get rid of a lens or two with one of these and try to reduce switching lenses so much. But it makes sense to use a better quality lens so I’m going to get the 100-400mm IS based on input here. I already have the 85mm and a 50mm Macro.
I was looking to replace my 70-300mm IS (Nice lens but not very sharp)
I’m also sorry for posting what seems to be a redundant question ..

No worries! It's kind of an on-going joke around here. A lot of people here really like that lens.
