Playing with CS3's B/W tool

If you would, tell me what you think about the contrasts in these pictures. I've been playing with CS3's black and white converter, trying to get a nice "pop" out of my pictures. Any feedback is appreciated! Click the pictures for the large versions.

I like the contrasts without the loss of shadow detail. Plus the highlights aren't too hot.

Enough that it seems you coud push it a bit more. A bit.
