This is Ruben Vela. He is an Accordian Player for his group Ruben Vela y Su Conjunto. He is pretty old, but he still continues to play. He is about to release a new album and the record label called me up for some photos for the cd cover. I had been wanting to shoot this man for some time now, and was pretty excited when I received the call. C&C is welcomed. I would like to know what I couldve done better.

The last two were shot on a different day (sunday the 23rd) the day I realized my 20d had been stolen from my car probably 2 weeks ago! that just ruined my chirstmas =(. I was looking for my 20d so I can take my second shooter with me to the performance, and then nope, there was nothing there.

You could have cloned out the power lines in the first two and cropped a little tighter in 3 and 5. Might have been nice if 4 wasn't so colorful. But over all they seem like solid images.

thanks Dwight....the lighting at the dance hall on number 4 was terrible....But i tried my best to get the brighter ones from that night without resorting to the flashed photos. I remembered to take off my uv filter that night! lol

I like #1 and 4.
Would have liked a few shots with him 'playing' instead of 'posing' (looking straight into the camera)

thanks Rene. I have more of him playing, but i just didnt put any of them up. Ill go through them again, and see what I can pull up. thanks
