What is a good method to mount pictures? Need anything special? Where can I get the stuff?
I just want to put the 8x10 print on a piece of cardboard or something to show at a phot club.

Go to your local arts and crafts store and buy a sheet of white foamboard. It is generally 20"x30" and 3/16" thick. ($3)
While at the same store, buy a precut matte. The outer size will be 11"x14" and the inner window will be about 8"x10". This may be white, or it may be in a color. If a color, then the color should be chosen so as not to clash with the image. ($4) White is more universal, but colors can be nice also.
Using the 11"x14" size as a guide, and using a razorblade knife, cut the foamboard. Using tape, mount the print on the back of the matte. Then spray some spray adhesive all over the 11"x14" foamboard. I suggest doing this outside in the open air. Let it sit for a minute, and then drop the matte/print onto it, aligned properly, with the photo print exposed.
Put that in a press until the adhesive cures (half hour?). For a press, you can use two pieces of flat plywood with a few bricks on it.
On the back of the foamboard, apply a label with the Title, Photographer, Copywrite Date, and any other information, like the location or camera used.
