Very nice shot. I have seen one before and dont know where it got its name from. It should be called Red Mohawked Woodpecker:)

I have a shot of one of these from over the holidays also. Wasn't sure what it was...will have to post it if I ever get time to do it! :) This is a great shot you made!

Windoze; nice capture....he's a frequent visitor to my feeding station in northeast Ma. Here's a photo w/him exposing his name sake...I have no idea why he was named for such an esoteric characteristic.
Excuse the quality of the photo....it was taken just for his belly.

This my first time attempting to attach a photo.....I have resized this photo trying to comply w/the 800x800 rule of this site, but it keeps coming out huge.
I've resized on in my files (336x405) and also in photobucket (265x319)....plz tell me how to correct.
I will edit size ASAP w/your suggestions.
