Hello,

I have always been a Dell user at home, and my old Dell is crapping out. I have used eMacs and iMacs for over 2 years at work. So, I am comfortable with both.
We went to look at new computers today, and even though I may get a new Dell laptop, I may also purchase an IMac 20" Desktop with 4 GB.:D:D.

I am limited with only mildly messing around with iPhoto, (which is VERY basic, to say the least) on the MAC. SO, that is the extent of post processing on a MAC..

Of course, I know I can transfer my Adobe, blah, blah, and yes, I do need to buy other software. ......

As far as PHOTOSHOPPING/POST PROCESSING/EDITING:

opinions please. I do NOT need opinions on anything else. just the Post Processing of photos.

IMAC

or

MICROSOFT based

Thanks.

P.S.

I did do multiple searches on this subject, but none are very recent. The threads are pretty old, and of course, there have been upgrades, and vast improvements.

I don't see where it really matters? The cheapest Dell would have been state of the art 3 years ago. I don't pay over $500 & upgrade every two years.

i really dont think theres a difference between the two systems when your talking about one specific program... i use a tiny little dell 2400 with 2 gbs ram.. i do fine, yeah it can get a bit slow but thats about the time i either need to take a break or go to the bathroom...lol so, im good!

I agree. The OS a machine is running has little influence on the app you use. I'd go with a Windows system based simply on the fact that once you are done with PP there are a million other things that you can do with it and support when it goes wrong is much easier to get.
