For some reason I decided to put my 2xTC on the end of my 100mm f/2.8.

Taken at 1:1 on the 100mm what would the magnification be with the 2x added?


I’m still experimenting but some of the results aren’t too bad. Only some sharpening applied and a bit of a crop.

2x would seem logical to me? Love the jumper

Good shots- yes you will get 2:1 max with a little IQ loss.

Experimental settings!

The more recent (as of 4 hours later) are much better now that I am more aware of the acceptable capabilities of the setup.

No Flickr, but I have a Ftopic one.

I have been looking around for another provider. Fotopic reduces the image quality considerably. Flicker seems to do a pretty good job.

Is it possible to attach a TC between the body and the 100mm macro? I didn't think this was possible...

I have the Sigma EX APO DG 2xTC sitting between the 40D and the 100mm f/2.8 right now.

AF was hopeless, not that I need it for macro work anyhow.

Is it possible to attach a TC between the body and the 100mm macro? I didn't think this was possible...

Think with a canon 1.4TC this is not possible without putting a 12mm ext tube between them - is possible with sigma or Kenko TCs.
