Just a few from my last shoot of 2007. Good game to end with, a 2-1 Devils victory in an overtime shootout. Still no holes in the glass to shoot through, hopefully that will change shortly, but I'm not holding my breath...

Thanks for looking, comments and critiques welcome.

These are brilliant......as always.
Just top-notch pro material.

It doesn't appear the lack of photo holes in the plexi is really holding you back..... Although I'm sure you are noticing some differences.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks, I notice a difference on certain photos, the first one, if you look at brodeur, you can see the bottom half (pad area) of brodeur has a bit of a haze from the glass, bothered me on this one more than others, because the puck is right on the toe of the pad, which made for a strong capture...

Very nice shot.

Quick question, what do you use for the white balance? The closest setting I can usually get is tungsten and then brighten the shots in DPP when I get home.

I set a custom white balance...

Nice shots - bad results of the game for us Buffalo folk! Ones of Max are my fav., everyones eyes perk up when he touches the puck.

What settings were you using? Hopefully be shooting a game here soon but doubt it (AHL will, but not the Sabres).

those are awesome. I am just getting into photography as a hobbie. For lack of better words. Hockey is my favorite thing in the world ha. These are amazing. Hope to learn a few things from you.

....... sorry had to wipe away the drool. Beautiful shots. I managed 2 semi-decent shots of Marty when he was here. All from to far away but the one of him chatting with Phaneuf while they stretch is kinda cool.

Thanks for the comments, MJ as far as the settings go, they varied here and there, but usually in the iso 1000, f4.0, 1/1000th area...

Around the settings I used last year in Buffalo I believe...

Off to shoot my first game of the season tonight, in the AHL though with a LOT less light. I'm told to watch for a visiting "enforcer" who is great to shoot during a fight, hopefully have some stuff to share later.

Thanks muls

Great job, and the lighting there is insanely good! Wow! Especially considering plexi knocks down the exposure by 1/3 - 1 stop (depending on age and arena... since this arena is new I would say maybe 1/3 stop).
I assume you were probably using a 1D and 70-200 combo?

Nice job Ed. When shooting ambient, do you notice the 60hz cycle of the lights in the arena? I see this at Joe Louis arena quite a bit with the MKII, but it is not as noticeable with the MKIII. Awesome action with Brodeur!!!

Good assumption, Mark IIN and 70-200 is my usual choice from that location...
