Hello all,

I have a ZR25MC mini DV. I want to transfer my still pictures and video to my computer. I have installed a firewire card. I thought that was all i had to do. Wrong it does not work. What software do i need to import my pictures from the media card in the camera and what software do i need to import the video? i am running windows XP with a fire wire card and plenty of storage on my hard drive. Please help.

I'm not entirely sure about this but can't you use XP's camera wizard?
That's what I use for downloading photo's from my A40.

Video transfer requires an editing program that can accept a firewire input. You can then use the program to control the camera and capture the video off of the tape and onto your hard drive. Your camera probably came with a basic program such as VideoImpression.

The firewire only does video transfer from the tape. I see from the Canon site that your camera uses SD/MMC cards for still images. Does it also have a USB connection? If it does, that's how you transfer images to your computer. Or, you can just pick up an SD/MMC card reader and avoid the hassle.
