As I said before I have the Powershot S50. Now I am looking into gettin an old film slr (as mentioned in another post) for fun, and a digital slr (my pride and joy).
Right now I am considering the 300d, the 10d, 20d, and the Nikon D70.
I am really looking for all around use for abstract, floral, nature, macro, landscape, city, and architecture type photography.
Tell me what you would go with and what are your reasons. Ill definately need help on this one.

Josh,
there should be a lot of other threads discussing your question.
I would suggest that you could get either of these cameras (no big help so far  )
The Canon cameras have the advantage of the EOS lens system that offers great lenses at acceptable prices. The lenses will be the part where you spend the money in the future, so look into this one. Also, you will have similar controls as on your S50, you'll be able to use the same software, batteries (if the S50 uses the BP511), chargers and so on...
Between the 3 Canon models, they all have different pros and cons.
DRebel:
Pro: price ... cheapest option, camera performance very similar to 10D
Pro: can use the new EF-S lenses (cheap wide angle lenses available)
Con: plastic instead of metal housing, not as flexible (unless you install the hack)
10D:
Pro: cheaper than 20D, used versions in mint condition should become available now.
Pro: more sturdy and nicer 'feel' than DRebel, more flexible (unless you use the hack on the DRebel)
Con: Can not use the EF-S lenses
20D:
Pro: more resolution than 10D, faster, better AF performance
Pro: can use the new EF-S lenses (cheap wide angle lenses available)
Con: Price, availability
... Hope that helps as a first idea!
Best regards,
Andy

Josh,
Buy the biggest baddest you can comfortable afford. Anything you buy will be outdated in around 2 years. So if you buy a 6 mpx cam now, there are already 8 and 11 and 13 mpx's out there think what is coming next year. That way you won't be so far behind you immediately want something better    Like I always do!!! If you read everything you can find about these 3 cam's, I think your choices if cost is not an object will be,
1 20D
2 300D
3 D70
Just my thoughts :?
