Hello,

I would like the input of all of my fellow photographers. I am in the market for a 20" to 22" widescreen s-ips lcd screen.
I have read through the old posts to familarize myself with the the types of monitors. TN, ips, mva/pva...
So far I believe I should get a s-ips lcd screen. Now, which one should I get? I found the 2007WFP is now discontinued. Is there a similar screen that is 20" or 22"? I would love to get the dell 2407WFP-HC but it is out of my budget.
Is it possible to get a 20"-22" widescreen s-ips lcd screen for around 300-400 bucks?

I have already used these great websites:
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/other/display/lcd-guide.html
http://www.flatpanels.dk/panels.php

Thank you!

No, I don't believe it is. Do youself a favor and save your duckets and get what you know you deserve. IPS. Settle nothing less.

I will try to dig up the web sight that lists the panel types of most every monitor. It has been mentioned on this board a number of times. Figure 600+$. I just bought a NEC and I could not be happier!

Before my Apple 23" HD Cinema, I used a 19" NEC Multisync. Sorry I can't tell you the model # or what type it was. It was very nice, but nothing like the Apple.

Maybe you can find an older (19"?) Apple cinema monitor, the one with the "plastic" frame. I used one at work for several years. Very high res as well.

You might find this page useful (the NEC listed is a TN) as a starting point:

Hope this is of some use...

Not that it matters, but my 226BW is 3000:1 contrast ratio. Bottom line is that it has an outstanding picture for the buck...quick refresh and easy to use controls. IQ is rated right up there with much more expensive units.

Assuming a typo: "Samsung 305T (widescreen) has a 30 inch 6 ms (g2g) S-PVA (Samsung LTM300M1) panel" (from http://www.flatpanels.dk/panels.php)

This was the best $300 dollars I've ever spent!!! The colors are awesome and the pictures just jump off the page!

I've only had it around 4 months so will it last for years?? Who knows, but it has a great picture, plays games perfect and movies look awesome!!!

Hard to tell from the pic but this thing is HUGE!!
