View Full Version : WORLD WIDE PHOTO WEEK: PART 93 -- City Life/Country Life

BLS
30th of December 2007 (Sun), 18:32
The theme for this week is "City Life/Country Life." Interpret this any way you like, as different and unusual interpretations are always welcome.

Here are the rules:

1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Crummy shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!

2. Post your shots at any time during the week.

3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're embedding them at POTN. You can post more than two if you link to shots that are not hosted by POTN, but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size and limit the size of each shot to a maximum of 800px on its longer side.

That's it! Have fun!

;) damn right! AAAAAaaaaannnnnnnnnnndddddddddd it's nearly half over.

I live on the outskirts of town in a fairly new area - so we are still 'taking over' the country.

That wall is on a tyre (tire) repair place in the local small business area. I saw the guys out painting it about a month ago and thought I should get back there with a camera.

Wow, John, I really like this interpretation! Like the perspective and colors too. :)

Thanks Barbara

I had just returned home with that shot and some birds in flight shots and saw your post at the top - so I grabbed the first one I liked, resized it, uploaded it to my site and posted it here - all within 12 minutes of seeing your post - lol - I'm truckin'..........

Yeah - the colours - the 5D outdoors and adjusted for the OZ summer sun can deliver some fantastic colours - and the Sigma 24-70 helps a lot with that, too.

Monday through Sunday - so we get Sat and Sun to catch up if we miss during the week ;)

I was thinking of your Bot shots - but they are a bit early.

Seeing as how they are in grey skies and snow and stuff at the moment, it's kinda cool to post hot, sunny summery pix (they do it to us in our winter... :D )

Anyways - none of us got belted for posting a bit early or a bit late.

Apart from being 'art' just what is that meant to depict? Birds?

not when your city is on a harbour, as hers is.

Sea gulls, eh? I was saying to myself, "What is it?" Then I looked more closely and saw the birds. They remind me of paper airplanes!

Do you mean like this? I shot this a few minutes ago while watching Sydney's New Year celebrations on the morning news.

How pretty

Yes, 14 minutes of fireworks - how decadent!

I can't decide if this is city life or country life. I took it in a small suburban community while waiting for our take-out.

Wow, I've been so busy this week that I totally forgot about this event.

@somethingsimple I really like those birds. Did you take a picture of one up close?

@barbara The sun rise picture is amazing. Is that right outside your house? It must be nice to live in a peaceful area. The city is a little too hectic for me at times. And the takeout place, was the kitchen exposed in the waiting area or did you sneak back there =)

ooo -- Yes, the sunrise picture shows our back yard. A few hours later the snow was gone. As for the take-out, the kitchen is visible from the rest of the restaurant. They gave me permission to shoot.

Crissa -- Your 1st one makes me smile. The dog's stance reminds me of a hunting dog that's pointing, which is humorously out of place in a city.

Some ideas for the new theme:

Windows
