Malok posted this picture over in the Critique Corner forum, and a friend had the idea to make it into one of those motivational posters. It seemed fitting for this weekend, with everyone (including myself) desperately trying to get a new 20D for the weekend, so I figured I'd post it over here.

Thanks agian to Malok for the great pic.

B&H (and I suspect several other photo outlets in the US are closed for this Jewish holiday.

I got it (despite the fact that I'm not Jewish), unless I'm mistaken.

Quite a few of the larger camera stores have Jewish ownership. This is especially true in New York, and includes such well known firms as B&H and Adorama. In fact, for the last several days, B&H has been letting everyone know that anything ordered after the 15th will not be processed until next week. That's all. No biggy.

opps, I know it's a Jewish thing, but guess I don't know what that holiday is about.
(Please let's not get into religious/political/dynamite subjects, so please ignore my earlier question).

Belmondo hit the nail on the head. Nearly every large camera store over here in the New York area is closed until Sunday or Monday for the holiday. B&H, Adorama, Beach Camera, etc.
Unique Photo is open though, so I did manage to sneak over to their showroom on my lunch break and pick up a few things for my 20D which is supposed to arrive today. B&H managed to get my camera out yesterday despite that they closed at around 1PM.
I just thought it was funny that Canon would pick THIS week of all weeks to release this camera, knowing that many of the larger camera stores would be closed for half the week.

I think it's a world wide release date. If I'm not mistaken, it was 1st released in Sweden or Finnland...or such a cold place.

Not being insensitive, just showing my ignorance....
I opened the paper yesterday to see a photo of a man next to the caption "Rosh HaShanah starts tonight"... I thought the St. Louis Cardinals acquired a new pitcher.

B&H came through. I just got home from work and the 20D is here!!!!
I hope you all enjoyed the humor and I hope no one was offended by it. Those guys over at B&H work their butts off, so this is a well deserved weekend off for them. It's just an inside joke here in the NYC area that because most of the top camera shops in the area are owned by Jewish-Americans, it's tough to get camera equipment around these holidays (Not to mention Friday's after lunch).
Anyway, I'm glad to finally be a part of the great forums you guys are running over here. I've been following it for a few months now, and it is all the great info and tech help on this forum that lead me to take the plunge into the dSLR world.
Now all I need is a 70-200 F/2.8L IS, 24-70F/2.8L and 300mm F/4L IS, battery grip, Bogen carbon fiber monopod and grip action ballhead, and I'm all set .
