Get an X-drive. If you have a 1GIG card and want to burn the whole card it isn't going to work. CDs dont hold that much. I wouldnt trust it trying to split the card on to two cds. Plus, a portable storage device is reusable, CD's are not (unless you can use CD-RWs with that thing but those too will wear out and you will need new ones)

And if ever stops working you could use it as a weapon if someone tries to steal you camera, that thing is huge.

Other then the size, it pretty good. As mentioned the xdrive might be better, smaller and acceptable even to the most frugal folk.
