Here are three photos from the Loco Stages yesterday. the weather was kind to us and the sun did show it's face for and hour or so, although it was cold. My new 70-200 f2.8 IS did not arrive before xmas as promised, it will now be with me on Thursday.

Looking at the pictures you can for sure see how dull it was, but I think you could coax a little bit more brightness from them. Good action and sharp shots just a shame about the day.

Nice shots. I really like the first one too.
Do you ever get told off for using flash at these types of events?

I was spectating at a rally a few years ago and was told to turn te flash off on my camera.
lol your cameras flash is very bright, it didnt bother me as i was sitting in the passenger seat navigating but it was very bright and can distract people who are concentrating on there line ect :)
Anyways you took some fantastic pictures, sure you saw alot of sideways action from both the FWD and RWD cars
I had a great day personally.
I was just wondering would it be possible to have high re copies of car 58? :) in my defence :o itsa standard 1400 engine :) very underpowered compared to alot of the cars there...
thanks :)

Taking photos with the flash at rally's has never been a problem. You will probabaly find a lot of the pro togs at rally's use flash. All the usual crowd I meet at forest style rally's use flash and I have never heard of anyone being told to turn off a flash.

it didnt stop me from taking pictures, it was at the tempest rally in 2004 i think... The flash was bright on the inside of the car and could in some cases distract someone but tbh i dont think it is anything major :P you was the only photographer there who actually used flash :) but as i say its no problem :) doesnt bother me :P
