Well it has been a very long time since i have had a chance to post much of anything. So here are a few pics from a recent trip to Jacksonville FL.

OK, this one isn't a bird, but i think it is a fun shot...we idled in to a small cove off of the river and there were about 30 dolphin playing and feeding all around us...

Great shots Dustin. I wondered what happened to you. But if I had made it as far as Florida, I probably wouldn't come back. :)

I have just been really busy, just started a new job in IT. So i have had my nose in a book for the past two months. As for Florida, it was fun, but it was good to come home to AK. I missed my eagles ;)

Good for you. I've had less time myself, and just started working in IT again, so I have a lot less time for the forum or the birdies.

I guess with the shrub in the white house on his way out, business is picking back up, slowly. ;)

I like the landing pelican and the one on the post but both could be improved because they are looking out of the picture rather than into it. Try to leave a little space in the direction your subject is looking.

When you are using a prime sometimes you have to take what you can get. i was on a boat in the middle of the St. Johns River so i couldn't really adjust that quickly for the landing, as for the other shot maybe a crop would do better. thank you for the suggestions though, i will work on my compositions the next time i am out.

Hope you had a happy new year..

thanks Gary, it is good to have some time to spend on POTN again.

I wish you all the best in 2008
