Anyone have favorite, go-to books for sports shooting?

Are you looking for "how to" books?
If so, IMHO, this is the best book published on sport photography:
http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Sports-Photography-Newman-Lowrance/dp/1592006485/ref=pd_bbs_sr_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199126593&sr=8-5
Nearly two years after I bought it, I still find it interesting to read.
This DVD is actually not bad, either:
http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Sports-Photography-Made-Simple/dp/B000E40TI0/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1199126633&sr=8-3
If you're looking for examples of good sports photographs, there are dozens of good books out there.

I actually have that DVD on my list already, along with this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Sports-Photography-Capture-Action-Emotion/dp/1581154801/ref=pd_sim_b_title_2 The Table of Contents and reviews looked good. I hate it that I can't get my hands on them and look at them before I buy them, though.
Now off to check out the other one you recommended.
Thanks!:D

The Skinner book is good, and is well written also. I have it, too. I find the Lowrance book more oriented towards pro shooters, and the Skinner for beginners to intermediates.' They're both good books, though.

Thanks! I'm guessing I likely fall into the intermediate category - with the exception of basketball where I'm definitely in infancy.
Where does the DVD rate in terms of experience? Beginner? Advanced? Mid-range?

The DVD is pretty much for the beginner. Here's a web site for it:

Like I said, it's actually fairly well-done.

I looked at the lowrance book at Borders and I liked it. I need to order it from Amazon.

Update in case anyone else is interested in sports books:
I got to go to the city yesterday, and I looked at both of the above mentioned books at Borders and they are both excellent, for different reasons. I'm ordering both today. Thanks for the recommendations!
