Good captures for timing especially 1 & 6. (Shooter in number 2 bears a resemblance to Sydney Crosby)

The dark jerseys look like like too much USM. What settings do you use for USM? Also judging by the exif, that must be a dimly lit rink. You really had to fight the lights I'm guessing.

Easy does it! I just bought the 100-400 IS lens last week. I really cant afford the 70-200 f2.8 lens right now. I can always tell that lens with hockey photos.Excellent shots!

I think the USM was around 125, 1.25, and 4. It does look like a bit too much now that I look at them again. The rink is really dim. I would love to be able to get a faster shutter speed.

Couple of suggestions on the USM that I play with fwiw. I either stumbled on them by trial & error or read them on here....

70 - 1 - 5 and +/- on the 70 depending on the shot and your preference

200 - .3 - 0 and +/- on the 200 depending on shot and pref.

The second one is more harsh - especially as the first number increases.

Cheers.
