College rink, 24 fixtures, 2 out, 2 cycling on/off. Used 3200 ISO and came away with these.

Looks alright for ISO 3200.
I think most of the Canadian universities hired the same rink lighting installation and maintenance company...

Two nice shots Alan. Do you have any problems with focusing at 200mm when the lighting is this bad?

Thanks for the kind words.
Focusing was more difficult for this shoot. Even though these looked OK, There were a majority of my shots that were softer than usual. I tried several settings but nothing really stood out over another.
BTW, did you all notice the stick grab in the first photo?

Three hands on a stick ! A penalty if the stripes see it.
You've done a good job here. I figured the 3200 would be noisier. Thanks for posting and happy 08.
BTW -
I used to have a coach (way back when it seemed like bulbs failed more) who told us to check where the lights were out during the warm up, make note of it, and get a shot off from under them during a game if possible. Reasoning was that if the difference in lighting fooled the goalie for a split second - it was to your advantage as the shooter. It was a good theory although I can't remember of it ever paid us dividends.
