I just think this site could be a lot more. The forums functionality is great, so thats fine, but the main site could offer so much more. With the user base and backing, tutorials, public reviews, member of the day photos...I'd love to help on such a project...I realize its a personal site in a way, but maybe start over or something...

I donno, just ideas...this place pulls mad traffic and could be THE base for all canon users...

Don't you know where you are Bob? :)

You're an engineer - you should know how to decipher acronyms.

"POTN" would be the acronym for Photography On The Net.

I'm still struggling with "potn."

It's the same language regardless of capitalization.

Well I am working on my second degree in computer science and it made no sense to me. Besides, I think the accepted title is Canon Digital Photography Forums. At least that is what it says at the top my my web browser.

I also agree with Bob, acronyms should be capitalized especially if they are uncommon.

blinking8s, your suggestion is great but it would require a lot more of Pekka's time (or moderator). It would pretty much be a full time job.

and it's POT.N :!:

Well, to be honest with you, I just encountered that acronym about a month ago and it took me a while to finally figure out what the poster was talking about. I still have to think twice when I see it before it dawns on me what it stands for. Maybe it's just me going senile. :?

Your confusion is understandable. It's from all those years of potn smoking.

Yeah I thought "potn" was a typo for "porn". I was all "Yeah man! Porn innovations!"

Things are never what they seem.

he could always turn to the forum though, we have a HUGE base as a community, I spent the last 2 years studying interactive design, I only have one major site under my belt that is portfolio worthy, and there are bound to be a few php/mysql/as/design savvy people around here who can whip up some cool stuff.

That's because the government probably has at least 3 acronyms that match the letters "POTN". :)

They have site scripts that would allow people to help him run the site basically.
