My 1v HS has a custom function (#16) called safety shift. Example: If you are in tv mode and you have a f5.6 lens mounted and you have set the shutter speed at 1/500th, the camera will lower the shutter speed when the lens is wide open for proper exposure if the level of light is lower than a f5.6 lens will allow for correct exposure.

Can the 1D MkII do the same thing by changing the ISO setting instead of lowering the shutter speed?

I'm pretty sure it can't.

Just had a quick look through the manual and can't see it there.

Now *that* would be a nice feature.

The MKII does have safety shift but not for ISO.
