Playing around with some shots of insence smoke today, this is what i came up with.

i mirrored the smoke shots in photoshop and put a colour grad through it.

If it was I did a couple myself but posted it in Critique, should have come here really, what did you do to get more of the swirling effect? when I tried it either sent the smoke all over the place even though it was a gentle wave of the hand, or it stayed more vertical. But then there is never going to be two same shots, which is cool.

U8myufo, try holding a teaspoon just over the tip of the stick, either way can create some nice patterns.

Just like the Indians did eh? Now why didnt I think of that:) Nice tip thanks. Ummmm!! Teaspoon in one hand, flash unit down below the subject in the other hand, any advise how I press the remote button? Cos her indoors aint gonna stand there while I mess about:lol::lol:

Yes it was, i just blew through the smoke to the background, so i think the swurling happened when the current bounced back of the backdrop.

Incense stick, gives of more smoke the the old cigs's.

You got that down to a fine art now. I have not done any since my last post, I am playing Macro at the moment:D Next week I shall mostly be doing wildlife:)
