Re:
Canon MKII
Hi,

I spent two hours last night trying to figure out why the "CAMERA SETTINGS" option on the Viewer Utility is grayed-out  . I am using the USB cable (I think the book said to use the Firewire Cable, but I found it hard to believe they would do that).

If they did, I'm an idiot.

Anyone have any ideas? The camera shows up fine when I power it up in both My Computer hardware (shows properly) and the popup indicates it found the camera. Plus, I installed the software on a completely different PC and it does exactly the same thing.

I'm thinking cable?

I don't know. But I would sure like to change a few personal settings; by the way, that's all I care about--not downloading images from the camera

TIA,
Dan

The firewire is the only way to connect to a PC. The usb is just for direct print. Its in the book

Neil,

Thanks!!!!

You know I never seen that in specific terms but the documentation seemed to lean in that direction. I just couldn't believe that to toggle a few binary switches I needed the FW cable connection. Well, it's off to CompUSA for a FW interface for my PC.

Thanks Neil....
