RAW conversion in PSE5 causing corrupted JPG files?

Recently I've been having a problem with files that I've converted from RAW to JPG in PSE5 being corrupted somehow. I've tried looking at the properties and file extensions and information and such, and there is no difference between those JPG files and my originally-shot-in-JPG files (or files converted some time ago), but my computer isn't recognizing them for some reason. I realize this likely isn't enough info to go on, but has anyone heard of this before, or have an idea of what might be causing it? I've processed RAW in the past with no problems. I run XP on a Dell desktop.

I don't know if this would make a difference but are you using the latest raw plug in? The only other suggestion would be to use system restore to go back to a time when you could convert RAW to JEPG.
