Great shots, this is one bird I am going to try and get this coming year. What lens were you using?

thank you cweber! I was using the 400mm 5.6. It is always on for birding now :D But don't get me wrong the 100-400mm is great.

I can truly understand why so many of your shots were taken through limbs and leaves... those guys are as elusive as anything I've ever tried to capture. Well done!

VERY NICE! i think they are very elusive. there is a nature walk in yulee FL . i went one cold morning. and i heard the call of one, so i looked and saw one at the top of an old tree. the only tree with a peice of sunlight hitting it, first thing in the morning. i hopesd for him to come on down. i see them in my parents yard at times.. nice shots btw!

Very nice. I finally got to see one of these for the first time in December. I was surprised at how big they are. I never did get a usable picture of the one I saw, but he was right above me and large enough to cause chunks of tree to fall on my head. They sure are neat birds to watch.

Thanks vjack! yes they are a big bird and watching them fly through the trees is very neat.
