I have a slideshow I have played with, the original had next previous buttons, I removed those to only have it an automatic slideshow

Script works nicely. I have incorporated a link in the footer of my version of EE which opens up the slideshow. My only problem is that the slideshow script shows all images in a given directory or subdirectory. The way default EE works (as I understand it) is it puts all photos in size directories indendent of exhibition which means that the slideshow is for all exhibitions.

What I really want to do is have a slideshow for a particular exhibition. i guess i could create subdirectories in the photo directory size directories (if you know what i mean) for each exhibition but this would then require lots of paths (?) specific to each exhibition and rather defeats the object of EE.

Is there any easy way to alter the script to filter the images based on some sort of criteria (ideally linked into the ee database so selection can be by exhibition etc)?

There is also a thread about using EE when the photos are already in a directory structure which seems somewhat related to my situation.

Pekka - it seems that Photocroatia's slideshow script could failry easily (notwithstanding the design question I discuss above) be embedded into EE for each exhibition. i have a feeling many users might like this. i know my extended family who view my pictures would love this!

Im not sure how you have setup your gallaries.

My directory structure looks something like this:

photos/location1/nornal
photos/location1/thumb
photos/location1/microthumb
photos/location2/nornal
photos/location2/thumb
photos/location2/microthumb

I put the slideshow script in the "normal" directory.

Yes. this is what i understood I could do but it would require in my case a different directory for each exhibition since I want someone to view a slideshow for one exhibition. Obviously thats possible but I think i would need multiple paths (which I guess is doable but somewhat defeats the object of EE flexibility)

Best thing would be for Pekka to incorporate slideshow functionality into EE!! (sorry Pekka). Seems like there are others interested in this also.
