I have recently been using Noiseware for noise reduction. While I'm pleased with the results, I noticed the file sizes are being drastically reduced. The average is from 6MB to 1MB.

Is this normal? Something to do w/ what the noise reduction process actually does to the image? Will this decrease the potential for a large print (11 X 14 and above)? Do other noise reduction programs do the same?

Thanks

I think it has something to do with the jpg compression factor

I think your right to a certain extent....

A little more info..

Shot in RAW, converted to JPEG in PS, opend and process in noiseware then saved as the original JPEG, overwriting the original JPEG.

Is this normal? Yes, it's smoothing out the variations between the pixels, so the file will be smaller. If it's not over processed, it shouldn't affect the image quality, though. On some images, I only smooth out the dark background noise.
