I just got the SD870 for Christmas. Most indoor pitures I took have one or many tranparent circles that I believe must be dust particles. I am wondering if these are on the lense and I got a bad camera.
I have had other digital cameras in the past and never noticed this. Can someone please let me know if there is something I can do to correct this. Or do I need to return the camera?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Dust in the air being illuminated by the flash. It's a direct function of how close the flash is to the lens (same as red-eye).

Jon, thank you fo rthe quick response. I guess this means there is nothing I can do about it, right?

Well, short of a whole-house air filter . . .

Jon, I really appreciate your help. Thank you. So, I shouldn't be concerned about dust inside the lense or on the sensor?

Nope. If it were in the camera, it'd be casting a shadow on the sensor, so would be black. In fact, unless it was directly on the sensor, you wouldn't see it in-camera.

Thank you Jon. That makes me feel much better. Bill
