Has anyone ever used one of these underwater bags with their slr?

I know they must be clumbsy compared to the real casings (which are more than my camera), but for $200 I could sacrifice having every camera function transferred. If I could get some decent shots..it looks like a lot of fun 8)
I would use it mostly for shooting surfing and waves.

I toyed with the idea but in the end could not brink myself to take a 1D MkII into the sea in a plastic bag.
My compromise was to buy a Canon PowerShot S70 and a Waterproof Case WP-DC40.

Haha, I hear ya. I could go that route with my s230 but would loose quality and zoom.
I'm pretty confident in the water and as long as the bag "works" I think I could keep it safe
I guess my real question is using AF with the bags that have the bellows for your zoom, this just doesn't sound good for your lens.

I´d be interested in that too. Would be cool for diving. They claim that the camerafunctions kan be acessed via the pvc. I wonder how this will work under pressure e.g. at 10 or 20 meters debt.

well assuming you got most of the air out before sealing it, there would probably be enough air so the bag wouldn't be suctioned against the camera but still be close enough to depress a button say.
some even have a glove thats part of the bag so you can stick your hand in.
one of these might find its way to my door :)
