A couple of shots from Crosswinds Marsh in S.E. Mich. 12-29-07

Looks like he is sticking his tongue out at you in the first image. :p

I prefer the first because of the side view rather than back of the birds head. I know that is sometimes hard to do when all the woodpecker will do is beat his head against the tree!

Both images again look a tad on the dark side. A little flash could help as could some hightlights in PP. ALso the images appear a bit noisy to me. Were they significant crops? Sometimes a Noise Reduction add-on like Neat Image or Noise Ninja or another can really help.

BTW, don't let the red head fool ya. It is a Red-bellied Woodpecker.

I have yet to get a decent shot of one of these Woodpeckers...other then on my house for some reason. :rolleyes: :lol:
