Get a firewire or USB2 card reader and your life will change. They are world's faster than dumping direct from the camera.

Firewire or USB 2.0 doesn't matter for card readers. The speed of both of those interfaces is much higher than the read speed of any CF card. If you get an USB 2.0 reader, make sure your computer also has an USB 2.0 port (and not an older, slower USB 1.1).

My USB2 card reader is about 10x faster than transfering directly from the 300D to PC.
And that's with only a 12x card.
