When is the sun ever going to shine again?? Between yesterday and today this is all I've managed. High ISO so lots of noise but dealt with as much as possible with Noiseware.

Dunnock

With all my settings wrong and totally not expecting it, this grey heron flew over my back garden - this is a big deal in the UK so I'm putting the photo up, even though it's rubbish (sorry!)

C&C always appreciated :D

Sheryl,

The Blue Tit is such a beautiful bird.

As I look at all three of your images, the one thought that consistently comes to mind is a need for light - more light, better light, just light. The Blue Tit looks like it has good detail in the feathers and good color but yet it looks a bit flat and dull. maybe some flash could help. Or a dollop of highlights in post-processing to brighten things up.

The same goes for the Dunnock. Again it looks like the details are there they just need more light to be brought out.

Not to fear, the sun will come out again. (At least I have kept the faith here where every opportunity I get it bathed in overcast skies!:)). While waiting, if you use some flash or PP highlights, it would help these images.

Keep shooting.
