I am interested in learning what I can about wedding photography. I am a sports photographer myself and I shoot as a hobby and sell a few photos here and there to pay for my equipment. I have been asked by several of the athletes I shoot to do Senior Portraits, and I have now been asked by two folks who simply can't afford to hire a professional to shoot a wedding in August, which gives me plenty of time to prepare, but I need help.

I rarely do anything without being as prepared as I can be and I am looking to learn. I have found the best way to learn is to do. I know this is rather bold, but I want to learn from someone who has experience, and someone who has taken photos that I admire. I am not looking to become a professional, just looking for some experience so I can do the best I can for this couple.

If you are willing and interested, I am looking for someone who will allow me to join them as a second (or third) photographer. For the right experience I am willing to do this for free. I will give full rights to the photos coming out of my camera to the photographer willing to give me the experience. All I ask is that in return I keep a set of the photos I take so I can learn from them, and that I see any (if there are any worthy of print) that are used or chosen by the photographer or wedded couple. (I would also LOVE to receive a copy of the photos taken by the photographer who accepts this challenge, solely for the purpose of learning from them. Being there when the photos are being taken and then being able to relate the final product to the "moment" is critical in my opinion. This of course is totally up to the photographer who will take me on as an "apprentice".)

I am ridiculously busy in January and February with Soccer Referee classes, but if you have any weddings or engagement shoots on your calendar in March or April and are willing to share the experience with an eager fellow photographer, please shoot me a note.

I am in Central Ohio and would be willing to drive a reasonable distance for the right opportunity.

Thanks...
