Well, I've had the camera for 24 hours and so far I really like it. I had one lockup within the first 30 minutes, but after that it has been fine.

I took the camera to a youth soccer game and matched it with two (new to me) lens--70-200 2.8L IS and the 100-400L IS. I'm getting used to some of these setting and trying to learn how to maximize their capabilities--so needless to say, ~I~ am the weakest link in the chain. I don't think I did the camera justice, but I'll get better. ;-)

This afternoon, my wife and daughters and I went for a hike to try and spot wildlife. All shots were taken with the 100-400L IS and handheld.

I am amazed that I could get good results handholding at 400mm and 1/125th (see dragonfly shot). I'll ease my way down further.

You can see the shots at the website below. If you want to see full size images, I could probably uploaded 2-3, just let me know.

Great shots! Did you shoot them jpeg or raw? What post processing work if any did you do?

Thanks.

They were all shot in JPEG & RAW (both); however, the image you see came from the RAW files. They were processed in the Canon Viewer Utility using "standard" contrast, sharpening, auto wb, etc. The converted jpgs were resized for the web and have some Intellisharpen added (3 out of 14).

JLS Photo, did you purchase your 20D from B&H? Many people are reporting camera lockups from 20Ds that were purchased from B&H. My
20D was purchased from Woodland Hills Camera, and I have yet to experience any lockups. It could just be a coincidence that the cameras from B&H are the ones locking up since B&H is the most popular and vendor of choice for camera equipment, or it could be that B&H has a bad batch. I hope firmware can fix this, otherwise I will kick myself for jumping on the 20D wagon so soon if my 20D starts locking up on me!
