Just got home from work and the UPS man had left a big brown box on my doorstep. I haven't taken any pictures yet, but after attaching the Holster 40 and Holster 20 to my Steroid Speed Belt, I can tell I am going to enjoy this system a lot. I've loaded my 30D with my 70-200 on the left in the Holster 20, and my 40D + Grip and the 24-70 in the Holster 40 on the right. Both lenses have their hoods on, reversed, and it fits like a glove. I was amazed at how much lighter this rig feels when strapped around my waist.

I will be sure to post photos, and a more in depth review, after my upcoming trip to Northern Uganda. It's going to get a workout, for sure!

Congrats on your purchase. I have a holster 40 on it's way, due Tuesday. Hopefully, it will serve the purpose.

Congrats, you just purchased one of the best systems out there.

Be sure to post some pics. It looks quite good as your shoulders take some of the load. But it might look a bit too much to use for a wedding.

TT stuff is great. My current bag philosophy - and has been so now for over a year - is that if TT doesn't have it, I don't need it.

Their belt system is the best one out there. Their module bags that attached are the best thought out of any of them.

I have used my Tamrac belt system for the last two years but I have recently discovered the Think Tank system and plan of getting several of their Modulus componants plus their Pocket Rocket for holding my CF cards with out the little plastic cases.

I really like their designs and I am also looking at their 360 degree rotation setup it is both a waist bag and a backpack plus you can add modulus stuff to it.

I ordered a speed demon last week, can't wait to try it out! :)

TT has cured me of my bag-a-holism. After buying the TT Change Up, I haven't lusted after a bag for over 6 months now.

6 months? You're not cured. Just wait until someone (anyone) releases a new bag that doesn't exactly duplicate, in configuration and capacity, your current ones. If you don't feel the pull then, you might be on the road to recovery, but you sure aren't cured after only 6 months.

I'm in about the same place as jhom - the Changeup is a great bag. I, however, am not optimistic enough to say I'm cured. I think it is more like I'm in "remission." Bag-a-holism is a chronic illness.

In the past, a "Test Drive" label was attached to items that were undergoing evaluations from individuals who TT sent a sample item. TT test drives their product for comments and may incorporate improvements in the final retail version. The item is likely just as good as the final product but may have one or two different features.

I forgot to mention that I sold off all my other brand name bags. I only have TT gear that this point. Unless TT comes up with a retail sherpa, I seriously doubt I'll be buying a bag any time soon. :D;)

I have essentially every TT item they have. I'll be launching a site that will debut reviews, test drives, with TT products and also working closely with TT to roll out some discounts (hopefully) for members here to promote items.

TT is definitely my gear and expect to see more coming soon!

TJ I wanted that setup but you wanted more than I did by the way you kept bidding, I had found a store to get the basic modulus speed belt setup for around $120 so I didn't see going much over what I did even with the extra bag or two.

I was going to sell the belt and any bags that I couldn't use to get the items that I would still need. Basiclly I think I only needed one of the lens change pouches, the flash pouch, and the speed changer from what I remember the rest I was going to sell off.

Thought I might have been bidding against a fellow PONT member... well I was going to buy the setup on their web site for $150 so I figured I would go at least that high consider it comes with the two extra bags...

I too am a fan of Think Tank, have met the owner twice at the photoplus Expo. He's a real nice guy.

I bought the belt, but I believe a different one than you are speaking of. Mine is narrow, not wide as the Lowepro (or the steriod, I believe) and I find it tiring to wear on the hips.
I haven't used it in quite some time, preferring instead a vest or a slingbag.

I'll be looking forward to seeing the reviews. Going to stop by my local shop this week and see if they will carry them.

Yes, the one they brought to photoplus expo was only the pro speed belt (http://www.thinktankphoto.com/ttp_product_ProSpdBlt.php). Per ThinkTank, the steroid speed belt (http://www.thinktankphoto.com/ttp_product_StrdSpdBlt.php) is not a hot seller. They usually recommend the pro speed belt first before recommending the steroid speed belt. Both are good belts but many sometimes find the steroid to be more bulky. It's a matter of preference in the end.

Yes, we expect to launch sometime in Feb. We will be doing a promotion with their products and perhaps a discount of some sort for members here.

I think for sporting events, where one will be roaming the sidelines, a belt system is probably the best system to use. That's evidenced by all the pro shooters during NFL games using them and my own experience.

I however bought mine as a means of carrying my equipment while walking around in the city, and for that I did not find it either comfortable or practical. The pouches just stick off too far (obviously by their very nature, not singling out any one brand in that) to make it practical for walking around shooting, IMO.

I have not tried on the Pro Belt, but the Steroid belt, while larger and seemingly more padded, does not feel too bulky. I anticipate shooting out of this setup for 8-10 hours at a stretch, including lots of walking around, and I think a smaller belt might be much less comfortable, especially with both holsters and the lens drop-in...they certainly aren't light!

I have recently bought Think Tank Photo Digital Holster Pro 50, because it seems to be the one and only holster that can take 400D with battery griff and 70-200 with the hood in position.

I haven't yet used it much, so I don't have any experience of its use, but it looks very well done and sturdy enough to protect my gear. The only thing I complain is the price of it in Finland (78 euros) which seems to be twice as high as in the USA. Somebody is making good profit.

As a future developing, I would suggest the front zipper to be modified so, that the end of the holster could be opened, thus making it possible to shoot while the camera is still in holster.

In severe frost it is advisable to keep you gear warm and out of snow, and this would be the perfect solution. It would also make it easier to shoot stealth in public with a long lens. All you need is a radio trigger and Think Tank masked as a shopping bag or similar, with a plastic bag.

Lol now that's a crazy idea. You might as well not come out of the house.
