Hi,
Just got the S30 and will be travelling to Asia where the voltage is 220-240 / 50-60Hz (I live in the US where it's 120V/60Hz). The manual seems to imply that the battery charger is multivoltage and cycle, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know? I need to figure out whether I need to buy voltage adapters before I leave.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Well, it says on the back of the CB-2LT that the input is 100V-240V, which suggests that it is auto-switching. And given the global nature of Canon, that would make sense.
I suppose someone in Asia or Europe can check the input voltage on their S30/S40 charger. If it's the same thing, then I imagine you'll be okay.

I have the CB-2LT charger, travelled in Europe and the Middle East with voltages from 240 50 Hz to 110 60Hz and it works with them all. I even have an inverter which runs from the car battery and put out 110v 60Hz (pseudo AC) and it works with that as well.
Check your charger model number, I have noticed that there is an other model with a lead rather than the fold away built in plug. I don't know anything about that model.
The only problem you mar have is the built in plug, you will need an adapter fro most countries outside USA.
Happy and safe travels

I live in Asia, and I checked the charger for my S30, and it just says 100-240v, and the output is 8.4

Surely it can use in Asia with addition of a plug adaptor converter compatible in yr destination.
